Haunted Bobby Mackeys

One of the most haunted spots in Wilder, Kentucky is Bobby Mackey’s Music Club.  The land this hot spot sits on has been the site of multiple murders, suicides and satanic worship.  Today concludes the three day conference that was hosted by The Travel Channel’s Ghost Adventures crew.

The following are documented instances of paranormal and ghostly activity within the nightclub:

*Cell phone calls from 666-666-6666

*Zak Bagans received three bloody scratches down his spine while filming their recent episode there

*1896- Pearl Bryan was murdered in a ritual satanic sacrifice.  Her head was never found.  Her killers, who were sentenced to death by hanging, purportedly haunted the building.

*Johanna, daughter of the owner when the building was a casino, committed suicide in the dressing rooms in the basement.

*Janet Mackey has been accosted by the ghosts when she was 5 months pregnant and was pushed and thrown

*A juke box used to play the anniversary waltz, even when it wasn’t on the juke box.  Today, the song can still be heard, and the juke box is no longer in the building.

If you’d like to visit this fun night club and haunted building, check out Bobby Mackey’s Online .  Drop on by when you’re in the Cincinnati area!

You’ll see this posted at the entrance when you visit:

“Warning to our patrons: This establishment is proported to be haunted. Management is not responsible and cannot be held liable for any actions of any ghosts/spirits on this premises.”

Learn Ghost Hunting in College

Yep, it is true, you can now take real ghost hunting classes in college.  (Will the real Professor Payne please stand up?).  Ghostbusting 101 is being taught at Dalton State College in Georgia.  Classes fill up quickly, so if you live in the area you’d better register real soon.

The class will be taught by Connie Scott and Drew Hester.  According to the college,

“Students of ‘Real Ghostbusting 101’ will explore theories about what a ghost is and why an entity sticks around among the living,” says program coordinator Kelly Snyder. “They’ll also study the history of ghost hunting, orbs, ectoplasms, and white noise and the question of what makes a ghost ‘good’ or ‘bad.’”

Drew Hester is a parapsychologist and Connie Scott is a published author on the paranormal, ghost guide and paranormal researcher.  They plan on leading the students in the class through a real-life paranormal investigation and a post-investigation follow up (or, as they say on “Ghost Hunters,” the big “Reveal”).

If ghost hunting is your thing and you’d like to learn from a few pros instead of neighborhood enthusiasts, visit the college’s website at: Dalton State College  (click on Personal Growth) or call the Center for Continuing Education at (706) 272-4454.

Why didn’t they offer this when I was in college?

Meet Sylvia Browne in 2009

If you haven’t heard of Sylvia Browne you’ve been living under a rock somewhere.  She is famous for being able to speak with spirits and for the many books she has written on spirits and spirit guides.  I’ve seen her speak before and she is frequently on television programs.  While she doesn’t do the John Edward type show, she does make personal appearances frequently throughout the United States as well as a few places abroad.  If you’re curious about spirits and wouldn’t mind being hypnotized (perhaps), then consider seeing Sylvia in person at one of her seminars.  Her new lineup for this year is as follows:

Washington, D.C.  March 5

Louisville, KY   March 7

Cleveland, OH March 9

Kansas City, MO March 31

Toronto, Canada   April 2

Mexico, Riviera   April 18

Boston, MA   May 10

Philadelphia, PA  June 12

Hartford, CT   June 14

Providence, RI  June 17

New York, NY   June 19

Alaskan Cruise   July 18

Dublin, Ireland   August 2

Caribbean Islands   November 7

Visit HayHouse.com to get complete details on each of the above listed locations.  You won’t be disappointed!

TAPS Ghost Hunting Classes

If you’re really into ghost hunting, or have just dreamed of being one, why not learn from some of the best.  TAPS, yep, you’ve seen them on television, actually hold classes in ghost hunting techniques.  The classes are taught by Kristyn Gartland, a TAPS member.

Kristyn Gartland

According to the website, this information is given regarding their Paranormal 101 class:

Paranormal 101 will prepare you for an investigation. This course will cover everything from the initial client email through the investigation to the resolution.

I was fortunate enough to have learned under the best guys in the paranormal, Grant Wilson and Jason Hawes. I was given the opportunity to travel all over to investigate and be a part of a great TV show. It took a long time to fine tune my skills as an investigator. I can help you learn all about the types of hauntings, what to do when faced with them, and how to help the clients.

~~Kristyn Gartland

If you’re interested in registering for one of these classes, check out the following link:

Register for Paranormal 101

This class is frequently sold out, so check back often for class openings.  Also understand, there is no certification for this particular class.  After all, everything about ghost hunting is subjective!

I’ll try to follow any course openings and report when they’re available!
